Prof. Dr. Hasan Kaplan, the president of International Epoka University which is one of Albania’s most respected universities, has visited Ishik University. He came to Erbil to participate the ‘New Developments in Thermal Insulation’ Conference at Ishik University Hall and also to establish further cooperation between the two institutions between 29 and 31 January, 2010. Professor Kaplan toured the university campus and received information about the university. He was also presented a plaque by Ishik University president Prof. Dr. Salih Hosoglu to commemorate his visit. Prof. Dr. Kaplan said he was quite happy about the successful start of implementing former agreements between the two universities about research and educational cooperation. He emphasized that Epoka University is offering graduate and PhD programs and has a serious infrastructure of engineering so they want to share their experience. He also stated that they want establish close relations with other universities in the region and Iraq. For this he visited Kirkuk University and Prof. Dr. Dlawer Al'Aldeen the Minister for Higher Education of the regional government.
